Except for some very minor marks near the strap eyelets, this camera body is largely unblemished. Internal wear, or the lack of it confesses that this body has seen very few rolls. Completely CLA'd (by our photo-metrology lab that dates back to when this was a current Zeiss model) and is in perfect working order. Shutter speeds and meter dead on. |

The full story of this wonderful (only in some ways) camera is the story of the self inflicted demise of the once titanic optical industry force, the Zeiss Corporation. This camera body was built to the spare no expense solid specification of the leaders guidance. Unfortunately it addressed a market that was not really there in any substantial numbers. Though it was one of the most solidly/durably constructed camera bodies of the era, it sported few real innovations in an era when innovation and value won sales. A really fabulous camera with one of the best lens systems; but, unfortunately, sales were too few.

New in box with warranty papers as it came from the dealer Indistinguishable from new but no box or no papers or both Very close to new condition with only subtle signs of use or handling. Extremely nice condition but does show some handling and use but no hard use whatsoever. Excellent condition but shows some wear and use. Perfectly Excellent operating condition but cosmetics leave something to be desired. Usable but has mechanical, optical and cosmetic issues as indicated in individual descriptions Issues as indicated in individual descriptions Very significant conditions as indicated in individual descriptions. The lower end of this range is basically a paperweight that looks something like it might once have taken some pictures.
