The Canon EOS 1 is the most historically significant professional camera body that Canon has ever produced. For decades and and over many intermediate evolutionary steps the Canon Camera Company had attempted to break into the professional photo equipment market with only very limited success until the advent of this camera body and lens system. Ironically, much of the technical success of the EOS system is based on pioneering work and exploitation of patents attributable to Nikon a couple of decades back. The EOS 1 and its associated lens system succeeded where no prior system (i.e. numerous F1 embodiments) "PRO" introduction attempts had ever before. It decisively broke Nikon's strangle hold on the professional market. It has been a game changer.

Usable but has mechanical, optical and cosmetic issues as indicated in individual descriptions Issues as indicated in individual descriptions Very significant conditions as indicated in individual descriptions. The lower end of this range is basically a paperweight that looks something like it might once have taken some pictures.
