Excellent operation, other than a battery door that needs careful attention on closing, the hinge has issues. This camera body has proper meter and shutter speed function at all speeds and is rediculously inexpensive given its original value. All shutter speeds function and camera body is assured to operate properly for a period of 90 days from date of purchase.

Every CANON camera body that we sell has all been completely CLA'd by our 40+ year Canon experienced photo metrology lab, has absolutely perfect meter and shutter speed operation and will not "SQUEAL" !
Introduced with a great deal of advertising fanfare in 1978 as a "HEXA-CYBERNETIC" camera, five actual photographic modes plus a self-timer; the A-1 is a very high end amateur/professional camera body with an astonishing myriad of features in a body aimed at the advanced amateur in a near professional level body package.

Since the electronically controlled self-timer is (and was) hardly a sophisticated operation justifying a separated electronic category; one has to conclude that advertising this wonder as "HEXA-CYBERNETIC" just sounds more sexy than "PENTA-CYBERNETIC". Who can argue with successful marketing decisions ?

New in box with warranty papers as it came from the dealer Indistinguishable from new but no box or no papers or both Very close to new condition with only subtle signs of use or handling. Extremely nice condition but does show some handling and use but no hard use whatsoever. Excellent condition but shows some wear and use. Perfectly Excellent operating condition but cosmetics leave something to be desired.
