Every CANON camera body that we sell has all been completely CLA'd by our 40+ year Canon experienced photo metrology lab, has absolutely perfect meter and shutter speed operation and will not "SQUEAL" !
Introduced in 1981 as the very natural successor to the original AE-1. Adds full program mode to this totally electronic wonder.
Fully integrated with FD lens mount
Camera body is totally electronic and power source is the PX28 or equivalent
Three fully electronically controlled modes of operation: Full Program; Shutter Priority Automation and Full Manual Control (basically identical capabilities of original AE-1 with the addition of Full Program Mode)
Shutter speed range 2 sec to 1/1000 plus B
ISO film speed range: 12-3200 (one stop extension at low end when compared to original AE-1)
User exchangeable viewfinder screens NEW (basically a response to a Nikon challenge here)
Removable (exchangeable) back
Depth of Field preview also permits use of FL type lenses for exposure settings
Manual metering with shutter priority AE
Center weighted metering pattern
The AE1 employs Canon's dedicated flash system which when a dedicated flash is fitted and turned on will send electronic impulses to the camera to set the proper shutter speed for flash sync as well as the proper f-stop on FD lenses (amazing capability for that time)
Non dedicated PC flash connector
Flash synchronization at 1/60th second
Self timer
LED lit f-stop setting display replaces needle display in viewfinder
Optional ACCESSORIES:
Data Back A; Power Winder A.
Recommended Canon flash(es): A series, 155A, 177A, 188A, 199A
