The 85mm F1.2 Aspherical FD

Single Aspherical surface denoted by red RED color
Eight Elements in Six Groups
Diagonal Angle of view: 28 1/2 degrees
Filter Size: 72mm
Length x max. diameter: 71mm x 80.8mm
Weight: 680g
An aspherical surface employed in the second element of this lens made it the world's first telephoto lens to be so equipped. This 85mm lens sets another precedent in being the first telephoto to incorporate Canon's Floating System (rear most group is seen to "float" by actually remaining completely stationary while the forward elements move with respect to it during focusing.) insuring good resolution even at the closest focusing distance of 0.9 meter. Perfect for available-light portraiture, the lens is the embodiment of high performance and provides a high degree of detail even under extremely low light conditions with its Aspherical element . It succeeded the non-Aspherical version introduced in 1976 which though very credible was not nearly as good.
