| The Contax G System had a small but versatile acoutrement of prime lenses, as well as 1 zoom lens. These are (in focal length order), the 16mm f8, the 21mm f2.8, the 28mm f2.8, the 35mm f2, the 45mm f2, the 90mm f2.8, and the 35mm-70mm f3.5-5.6. The 90mm and 45mm are usable with newer G1 models, but the zoom is only usable on the G2. Used Contax lenses are sometimes adapted or modified to fit on other rangefinder bodies, in part, because their sharpness is legendary. In fact, the 45mm is widely regarded to be the sharpest of its type in history. |
