35mm Contax SLR (Yashica/Contax) Lenses |
| The "C/Y" mount lenses were Christened according to their function. Retrofocus wide-angle lenses were named Distagons, with fish-eyes prefixed by an "F." Planars were prime lenses with large apertures in normal to telephoto. Tessars were their normal lenses. Sonnar and Tele-Tessars were telephotos. Vario-Sonnars were their zooms, and Makro-sonnar and Makro-planar predictably, were for macro work. Contax lenses were designed by Zeiss, and manufacturing shared between Zeiss and Yashica. While Yashica has exited the camera business, Zeiss still functions in the same way today. |
