The most astonishingly distinctive aspect of this modest range zoom lens is its lack of distortion and its prime lens rivaling sharpness. This ten element in ten group formulation displays two objectives seldom achieved in zoom lenses: there is almost no distortion over its entire range (very unusual in zoom lenses) and it employs Zeiss's proprietary T* multicoating technology to great advantage to maintain very high transmittance while having the effective amazing sharpness of many of the better prime lenses in its range.

New in box with warranty papers as it came from the dealer Indistinguishable from new but no box or no papers or both Very close to new condition with only subtle signs of use or handling. Extremely nice condition but does show some handling and use but no hard use whatsoever. Excellent condition but shows some wear and use. Perfectly Excellent operating condition but cosmetics leave something to be desired.
