Positively gorgeous specimen of this, LEICA's Ultimate and very last screw mount (LTM) body. Clear and contrasty very easy to use viewfinder and rangefinder. Completely CLA'd and has perfect shutter speeds and perfect rangefinder alignment. Has a past of having been very carefully and respectfully used. Has few shiny marks all over especially on its base as we have attempted to bring out in the photographs. Internal examination during the CLA revealed only extremely light past use. This camera body has seen very few rolls of film during its long life.

Completely CLA'd and in absolutely perfect mechanical and optical condition. Brilliant viewfinder and rangefinder. Cosmetics are challenged as shown but very definitely not seriously. Base is worn. Top cover has a trivial shallow dent. Speeds are perfect. Rangefinder is perfect. There are people that claim that this is the perfect "USER" camera since you do not pay for collectible cosmetics but you get essentially perfect operation, but at a discount to prettier examples. Near perfect Vulcanite, only the most trivial of defects. |

Introduced in 1957, three years after the M3 introduction, the IIIg was Leica's last SM camera body model. It has parallax corrected viewfinder frame lines for 5cm/50mm and 9cm/90mm lenses. Very much like the M3, it has a film speed reminder wheel on its back. Almost all IIIg production was chrome (The Swedish army ordered 125 of them in 1960 in black finish. These cameras are engraved with the Swedish three crowns and have been known to go at auction for absurd sounding prices.) All but about 2,000 Canadian of the 39, 678 produced were manufactured in Germany.

Extremely nice condition but does show some handling and use but no hard use whatsoever. Excellent condition but shows some wear and use. Perfectly Excellent operating condition but cosmetics leave something to be desired. Usable but has mechanical, optical and cosmetic issues as indicated in individual descriptions Issues as indicated in individual descriptions Very significant conditions as indicated in individual descriptions. The lower end of this range is basically a paperweight that looks something like it might once have taken some pictures.
