The nine element seven group MINOLTA ROKKOR-X 24MM F2.8 Wide Angle.
The original 9 element in 7 group formulation of this venerable lens is the preferred one. It can be most easily identified by its 55mm filter while the later formulation (8 Elements in 8 Groups) can be identified by its 49mm filter.
Though the later 8 element embodiment is well regarded, the original and more expensive to produce 9 element version is known widely as one of sharpest lenses of its era. It is interesting that the 9 element version is the basis of two other extremely well regarded Minolta optical masterpieces: the 24mm F2.8 VFC, which achieves its Variable Field Curvature effect by relative motion of one of its internal lens groups with respect to the remainder of the lens. The 35mm F2.8 VFC is optically identical but its linear dimensions are magnified by a factor of 1.458 . This results in a photographic area of coverage increase of over 112% ! Which further allows the 35mm focal length embodiment to not only have a variable field but offset imaging capabilities as well.

Perfectly Excellent operating condition but cosmetics leave something to be desired. Usable but has mechanical, optical and cosmetic issues as indicated in individual descriptions Issues as indicated in individual descriptions Very significant conditions as indicated in individual descriptions. The lower end of this range is basically a paperweight that looks something like it might once have taken some pictures.
