The FTN (Onset SN 3500001 October 1967 ended March 1975) added Nikon's proprietary center weighted metering system, twist (left to right extremes) lens indexing (before it was actually available on the venerable "F"), shutter speed read out in the viewfinder and an improved utility take up spool.
Version 2: Later iterative changes had a black plastic tips on the film advance lever and self-timer lever approximately the same time as these modifications were introduced on the "Apollo" F bodies and present initially on the F2.
