135mm (13.5cm) f4 Nikkor

Arguably one of Nikon's earliest lens formulations intended for close focus (later called "MICRO" more generally by Nikon) applications but at a distance. Created for the "S" or rangefinder series in its first embodiment:
Version 1a: Designed for "S" series bellows, requires BR-1 adapter tube for employment on "F" bellows. Has triangular f-stop marker and focal length specified in cm and high polish chrome front barrel.
Version 1b: Designed for "S" series bellows, requires BR-1 adapter tube for employment on "F" bellows. Has "dot" f-stop marked focal length specified in mm.
The lens will mount directly on an "S" series bellows but requires a BR-1 adapter tube to be used with Nikon's "F" series body bellows. The later embodiment effectively incorporates the BR-1 adapter tube as a part of its design and can be mounted directly on "F" bellows systems.
Version 2a: Optically identical to versions 1 but has BR-1 ring built-in. SNs 579XXX
Version 2b: Optically identical to versions 1 but has BR-1 ring built-in. SNs 580XXX
Version 2c: Optically identical to versions 1 but has BR-1 ring built-in. SNs 890XXX
