35mm Nikon MF SLR System Prisms, Finders & Meter Heads |
| In 1962 Nikon began production of the original Photomic Finder for the "F". This replacement for the simple pentaprism obviated the need for use of a separate hand held meter in making accurate exposures and like the cross couple Nikon meter attachments linked f-stop and shutter speeds to light readings. Revolutionary for its time, Nikon followed with improved versions of this finder for the F, and later models for the successor, the F2 (DP-1, DP-2, DP-11, DP12, etc.). |
