The "n" version of Nikon's Photomic "T" finder introduced a very significant improvement to its metering methodology: The 60/40 weighting of light readings wherein the inner 12mm "spot" in the viewfinder accounts for 60% of the reading and the outer area has the remaining 40% influence on readings.
The "Tn" finder is a direct evolutionary extension of the "T" finder, is very similar to it, but is distinguished by an "N" on one side of the OFF/ON micro switch and a white plastic battery test button on the other side.
The "Tn" remain largely constant during its approximate one year of production life.
