Licensed inexpensively, a large number of other manufacturers produced many K-mount lenses and K-mount cameras. The mount lives on in its AF incarnation today as the "KAF" and "KAF2" and "KA2" mounts, with various additional electronic contacts added.
Brands incorporating the K mount include Pentax, Chinon, Cosina, Miranda, Ricoh, Sears, Topcon, and Vivitar. Many lens manufacturers produced lenses for this mount, including the aforementioned, as well as better-known third party manufacturers Tamron, Tokina, Sigma, Angenieux, Agfa, Carl Zeiss, Lomo, Kalimar, Petri, and Kiron. Some of their well-known lenses include the MC Pentax 85 f1.8, their SMC Pentax-DA 40mm "pancake" lens. |
