Unlike the vast majority of cheap samples of this species on the market, which are plagued by issues of intra-element dust and haze; this pristine example has been CLA'd and performs perfectly as though it were new. This legendary lens owes its reputation to how well samples performed new when introduced. This one not only is gorgeous, its photographic results are gorgeous. 912sx
Pentax's Legendary 55mm F1.8
The 55mm f1.8 is arguably the longest lived and witness to the most evolutionary changes SM Pentax lens. It was first introduced as a minimum f22 aperture preset 6 element 5 group Takumar in 1958. Later that year the semi-automatic Auto-Takumar was introduced. The first truly automatic Super Takumar came in 1960. The SMC with RIFR came in 1972 and ceased in 1975 as the K mounts were introduced.
